eClass Upgrade on January 5, 2012

We would like to inform you that the eClass (Moodle and Blackboard Vista) systems will be offline on Thursday January 5, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon. We will be using this brief outage to upgrade to a newer version of Moodle which contains some important updates and improves a number of system features. Some of these features include:
- A newly designed and more robust Moodle question system
- The ability to restore the course contents from Moodle 1.9 backup files
- Bug fixes and improvements to security and performance
Please do not schedule any teaching or learning tasks during this period. If you have any questions, please contact ctl@ualberta.ca.

IMPORTANT: Proper Procedure for Logging Out of eClass
Posted on December 9th, 2011 No commentsTo log off all web applications including uAlberta applications such as BearTracks, Google Apps, and Moodle be sure to 1) click on the “Sign out” link at the top right hand corner of the web page and then 2) quit/exit the web browser application (not simply close the web window).
If you encounter someone else’s uAlberta session that is still active, please immediately log off and quit/exit the browse application. Accessing someone else’s session is in violation of the IT Use and Management Policy.
