Elluminate 7 Archiving Update

Just a reminder that U of A’s Elluminate 7 server is being decommissioned and all recordings made on that system need to be archived by the end of August 2010. This does not affect any recordings made on the new system, eClass Live! (Elluminate v. 9.1).

For late starters, the process for doing so is outlined on the document Elluminate 7 Archiving. This how-to guide explains the process, how to obtain the necessary software and licenses, and where to obtain assistance.

Administrators and instructors already working on archiving should also check the document to take note of some important changes introduced by Elluminate. The latest version of the Publish! software is NOT compatible with producing Elluminate 7 recordings so users SHOULD NOT upgrade their version to v.2.2x. If you have inadvertantly upgraded, the how-to guide now contains links to the required version of Publish! (v. 2.x) which you should download and re-install (after deleting v.2.2x).

Also please note that for any unplugged recording playback on Windows 7, your Java must be updated to at least version 6.0_20.

Emergency AICT Network Maintenance August 6, 2010

The General Services Building computing centre switches will be undergoing an emergency code upgrade to correct performance issues occasionally impacting some services. This upgrade will be performed Friday, August 6th, 2010 from 00:00AM to 00:30AM. eClass users might experience temporary slow system response during that time period.
