Old Elluminate Recordings
Posted on May 19th, 2010 No commentsCTL E-Learning Services is decommissioning the Elluminate 7 server by the end of summer 2010. This means that users who are still accessing and using recordings stored on this server will need to capture these session recordings and archive them.
There are a number of tools available to capture these recordings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screencasting_software), but we recommend using Elluminate’s Publish application. This software creates standalone execuble .jar files to playback recodrings and is available from AICT Product Sales for $20.
We have developed a tutorial outlining the recommended procedure for archiving these recordings using Elluminate Publish: http://www.elearning.ualberta.ca/pdf/ellum7_archiving.pdf.
To login to your faculty’s instance and access any old recordings you might wish to preserve, see the list of Elluminate 7 instances: http://www.elearning.ualberta.ca/live/live_login_stu.php.
If you have any trouble through this process, please contact us at elearning@ualberta.ca.
