This is a hands-on workshop designed to give participants all they need to know to start using Google Docs, in the classroom, in their research, and for their publications.
It will start with a brief presentation that outlines the basics of how to create, edit, and share Google Docs, and then take the participants through several short exercises where they will be given an opportunity to use this tool, both individually, and collectively. They will create a text document, a spreadsheet, a form, and help the presenter modify the introductory presentation. They will see how to use templates as well as how to create their own.
The presentation will be done entirely within the Google Docs application, and I would like to be able to invite the audience to share my presentation slides during the introductory talk.
Participants should bring their laptops/netbooks if possible.
Participants are encouraged to send me their email addresses ahead of time so I can share the presentation with them before the talk begins.
